The are many self help book that are extremely useful but sometimes it is better to use one  or two in conjunction with counselling as there appears to be many different approaches from writers which can prove confusing and counterproductive.

Paul Mckenna has a series of books that can be very useful with the added bonus of "Free Hypnosis CD" which can be used regularly to promote relaxation.  Some of the titles are:-

"I can mend a broken heart"

                  "I can make you happy"

"Change your life in 7 days"

For those who are interested in psychology and Attachment Theory "Infant Losses, Adult searches by Glyn Hudson Allez whose courses I have had the pleasure of attending, prove an interesting and helpful read. Helping you to understand the importance of the first few years of life for secure emotional basis for adulthood and what changes are necessary if this didn't quite happen.

I have included a couple of other books which are both helpful to parents but also to you as an idividual as the content equally applies to adults and their relationship with people in general.
